EastEnders actor Jake Wood has confirmed he isn’t going anywhere for the foreseeable future, as he reveals Max is “central” to storylines this year.
Jake, 45, first appeared on EastEnders back in 2006 playing his alter ego Max Branning, and has been involved in some of the biggest storylines in the soaps history.
Speaking to The Sun recently, Jake confirmed he’s not going anywhere following Max’s revenge storyline coming to a head at Christmas.
“I know he’s central to the plans for the next year, and we’ll see what happens,” Wood said. “I think there’s always potential for that character. He’s a delight to play. I love playing him.
“I never know what he’s going to do next, so I am as excited as everyone else to see what he’s got planned.”
With former EastEnders producer John Yorke returning to the show, Jake said there is “real excitement around the studios”.
EastEnders continues on BBC One.
