The Voice UK is returning to ITV for another series after its successful debut on the channel last year.
Last years coaches Will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson and Sir Tom Jones are all back for 2018, along with one of X Factor’s most successful artists Olly Murs.
The previous series pulled in an average of 5.6 million viewers and a 24 per cent audience share while its share of 16 to 34 year olds grew by 10 per cent on the previous year.
Like last year, this years winner will receive a contract with music label Polydor – home to global stars like Take That and Ellie Goulding.
The series begins with solo singers and duos competing in the Blind Auditions in the hope that the coaches hit their buttons and turn their red chairs for them. If none do, the coaches lose their chance to see the acts at the end of each performance in a format twist that was first introduced last series.
The coaches then whittle down their teams at the Battle rounds, with each able to ‘steal’ one act from a rival. The teams get smaller still during the Knockouts while the public get their say at the live Semi-Final – deciding who will make it through to the final.
The new series of The Voice UK launches on ITV on 6 January 2018 at 8pm.
