Dancing With The Stars Ireland loses its first contestant due to injury

Dancing With The Stars’ Aoife Walsh has been forced to quit the show after sustaining an injury during training.

The former Miss Ireland star had been putting hours into her training ahead of the shows big launch on January 7, but now she won’t be taking part.

Walsh, 27, fractured her toe during a training session and she is only expected to get out of her cast just before Christmas.

Speaking to RTÉ, Aoife said she is “devastated to have to hang up my dancing shoes so soon, but it just wasn’t meant to be this time”.

DWTS have already secured Aoife’s replacement; Britain’s Next Top Model finalist, Alannah Beirne.

“We are delighted to confirm that Britain’s Next Top Model finalist, Alannah Beirne, will join the cast of Dancing with the Stars; replacing injured, Aoife Walsh,” a spokesperson said.
