With Strictly Come Dancing’s final just around the corner, tonight the five remaining couples had an extra chance to impress – when they all took to the floor with TWO brand new routines.
Opening the show were Joe and Katya, who performed the American Smooth to ‘Have You Met Miss Jones?’. They earned a score of 35 from the judges.
After surviving last week’s dance-off, next up were Alexandra and Gorka – whose Viennese Waltz to ‘Everybody Hurts’ saw them score 39.
Next up were Mollie and AJ, who Samba’d to ‘Whenever, Wherever’. After mixed comments from the judges, they scored 24.
Then, Gemma and Aljaž scored 30, when they danced the Rumba to ‘Beneath Your Beautiful’.
The final couple to perform their first dance were Debbie and Giovanni, whose Jive to ‘I’m So Excited’ earned them a score of 34 from the judges.
Joe and Katya then returned to the floor with their Argentine Tango to ‘Human’. They were commended for their brave routine, which also scored 35, but would it be enough to see them through to the final?
Alexandra and Gorka then danced the Salsa to ‘Finally’ and yet again impressed the judges, earning them a perfect score of 40!
Mollie and AJ then had a second chance to impress the judges, after their first dance saw them fall to the bottom of the leaderboard. Their Waltz to ‘Angel’ scored 32, their highest score so far!
Next, Gemma and Aljaž Tango’d to ‘My Sharona’, scoring 32, improving by two marks from their previous dance.
The final couple to perform in tonight’s semi-final were Debbie and Giovanni, whose Foxtrot to ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ saw them earn a score of 36.
