Love Island contestant Jonny Mitchell has reportedly signed up for the brand new series of Celebrity Big Brother in the New Year.
Jonny, 26, will be the first ever Love Island contestant to appear on the Channel 5 reality show, after the ITV2 show bet Big Brother in ratings this year.
This years series will kick off with an all-women cast, but will eventually welcome male contestants into the house. This is part of Channel 5’s “salute to a centenary of women’s suffrage”.
The Sun reports that CBB bosses were keen to book Jonny for a romance in the house, following his split with Made In Chelsea and former housemate Stephanie Pratt.
The insider told the tabloid: “Jonny is going to be a big hit on the show. Viewers really enjoyed watching him on Love Island this summer – and clearly there’s still more to see from Jonny.
“His split from Stephanie was a major factor in Channel 5 booking him for the new series. He is guaranteed to bring some drama to the house and romance one of the female contestants.”
Jonny is the first male contestant so far rumoured to be taking part, joining newsreader India Willoughby and politician Charlotte Leslie.
Celebrity Big Brother returns to Channel 5 on January 2 from 9pm.
