Strictly Come Dancing’s first live show aired last night, clashing with The X Factor, but the dancing show remained on top throughout the night.
Strictly’s first live show last night (Saturday 23) seen this years 15 celebrities take to the dance floor with their professional partners.
The opening show was definitely spectacular, but according to figures released by the BBC, so was its overnight ratings. The new series was watched by 9.4 million people last night, peaking with over 10 million viewers.
Meanwhile, X Factor, which overlapped Strictly for 45 minutes, averaged 4.8 million viewers. Once Strictly was over, X Factor peaked with 6 million viewers.
Both shows are set to clash again, with an even bigger overlap next weekend.
For now though, Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One while X Factor airs tonight from 8pm on ITV.
