EastEnders: The real reason behind Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell’s exit from the soap!

EastEnders boss Sean O’Connor explains his reasons for the exit of Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell!

The EastEnders boss has revealed his decision to kill off Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell from the soap, which we saw on New Year.

In a recent interview with Royal Television Society, he said: “Ronnie and Roxy were not the sort of characters that would leave in the back of a taxi.”

“We wanted to give them an operatic ending, not just a simple ending”.

But with two popular characters exiting the soap, are we likely to see more popular characters leaving the soap?

Who knows, but Eastenders bosses are surely going to be throwing some twists and turns to the story lines that will no doubt involve some well suited characters.

But were you happy to see two popular characters exit the soap in the way they did? Should Ronnie and Roxy have been killed off? We would love to hear your opinions!

Eastenders returns to our screens on Thursday 23rd March at 7:30pm on BBC One.
