Tonight it was the final round of the live Knockouts on The Voice UK and it was the turn of Team Gavin.
With six members of his team remaining and only three final spaces in the quarter-finals left to fill, the competition was going to be tough.
First to take to the stage was Diamond, Gavin’s steal from Team Jennifer. She sang ‘Wonder’ and impressed the judges – but would it be enough to see her through?
Next up was the youngest contestant in the competition, Sarah Morgan, who performed a Whitney classic ‘I Will Always Love You’. The judges praised her for making the song her own and for her honest performance.
The third contestant to perform was Carter. His performance of ‘Sledgehammer’ rocked the stage and Gavin praised his powerful performance – but would the viewers agree and vote him through?
Truly Ford was up next, she put her twist on Lady Ga Ga’s ‘Million Reasons’ and the judges were impressed by her ‘truly’ beautiful performance.
The penultimate act to perform was Max Vickers, who’s energetic performance of ‘I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor’ earned him a standing ovation from the whole studio.
Last to perform was Keziah Rodell and she was hoping that her rendition of ‘Trouble’ would be enough to make it through to next week. Tom even said that it was the best version of the song he’d ever heard!
Before the all important results were announced, we were treated to a fiery performance from Will.i.am.
With the votes all counted and verified, it was time to reveal who had done enough to secure their places in next week’s quarter-final.
Emma began by announcing who the viewers had saved and it was Max and Sarah who made it through.
With the fate of the remaining contestants hanging in the balance, Gavin had the difficult decision of deciding who to take through. He saved Truly, meaning that it was the end of the road for Diamond, Carter and Keziah.
The Voice UK returns for the quarter-final on Saturday at 8:30pm on ITV1.
