Tonight we saw the knockout rounds of the competition go into full swing and it was the turn of another batch of contestants wanting to impress the four coaches and make it through to the next stage of the competition, but song choice was key as they really needed to impress tonight. With 24 acts left in the competition, it was down to business as it got whittled down to 12 and tonight we saw the turn of Team Will. But how did they get on? Let’s find out.
First up was Tanya Lacey, she sang ‘Changing’ by Sigma Ft Paloma Faith, the crowd certainly got behind her as they seemed to enjoy her performance. But what did the coaches think? Will said that she sounded amazing, and looked amazing, Gavin said that it was so good and that she hit everything she needed to hit. Jennifer said that she has got the full package. Tom said that it sounded professional and great.
Next up was Hayley Eccles with her version of ‘Need You Now’ by Lady Antebellum. Jennifer said that it looked like she was in her own music video and that her voice was flawless. Tom said that she has got a lovely sound to her voice. Gavin said that the song really suited her voice and that she is improving every time she gets on stage.
Onto the stage next was Jason Jones with his rendition of ‘Into You by Ariana Grande. Will certainly looked like he was loving that performance. He said that his voice is incredible. Tom said that he has got stronger as a singer and that he shone at the beginning of the song. Jennifer said that he has his own unique smoothness and that his voice is so effortless.
17 year old Lia White was up next with her version of ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ by Cyndi Lauper. Jennifer said that it was a perfect song for her, Gavin said that he loved it, Will said that he was very proud of her and that she made the song her own.
Clara Hurtado was onto the stage next with her version of ‘Alarm’ by Anne-Marie. Will said that she was on fire, Gavin said that she is the entire package and that she looks incredible and sounds great, Tom said that he loved it.
The final act for Team Will that took to the stage was Michelle John who sang ‘I Can’t Make You Love Me’ by Bonny Raitt. Tom said that she has got a powerful voice and an extraordinary range and that she has got a natural sound to her voice. Gavin said that her voice is extraordinary. But did she do enough to get through to next week’s quarter final?
But before the results were announced by Emma, we were treated to a performance from Gavin Rossdale and his band called Bush who sang their new single called ‘Mad Love’.
But it was time for the public to vote for their favourite 2 acts to put through to the quarter finals before the judges decide who gets the final place. But which way did the results go? Let’s find out.
The first act to get through was Jason. The second act to get through was Michelle and the third and final act to get through chosen by Will was Tanya. Congratulations to them!
So there we have it another action packed episode of The Voice UK. The competition is certainly hotting up and its getting more competitive. Who will win The Voice UK? You decide!
