Romanian-born pop duo, known as the ‘Cheeky Girls’ are reportedly set to enter the Big Brother house this summer.
According to The Sun newspaper, the twins are in ‘advanced talks’ with Channel 5 and Big Brother producers with a source saying bosses think ” this could be the best year yet”.
The source told the newspaper: “There is massive interest in the girls and they know how much the nation love them.
“Show bosses think this could be the best year yet and the pairs theme is already shaping up nicely. Gabriela and Monica have never done Big Brother — they’ve been waiting for the right moment.”
Gabriela and Monica first hit the spotlight back in 2002 when they took part in Popstars: The Rivals and had four top ten hits between 2002 until 2004.
The girls are reportedly set to go up against Michaella and Melissa who made headlines in August 2013 when they were caught trying to smuggle 11kg of cocaine, worth £1.5million, from Peru to Madrid.
A source revealed: “Michaella has made no secret of her dream to become a reality TV star.
“It’s all part of her bid to get her name out there in the lead up to returning to our screens – this time on an entertainment show, not BBC news.
“Big Brother producers have been chatting to her about getting her on the next series of the show, which is a pairs theme.”
Big Brother returns to Channel 5 this June.
