AMC’s “The Walking Dead” returned last week for its seventh season and it’s the number one show on television by a wide margin for a fifth consecutive season. A special 90-minute episode of “Talking Dead”, presented live from the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in front of 2,500 fans was also a huge success. So what can we expect from this weeks episode?

We meet Khary Payton as Ezekiel for the first time in tonight’s episode.

Introduced in issue #108 of Kirkman’s The Walking Dead comic, Ezekiel is an eccentric man and self-proclaimed leader of a group known as The Kingdom. The Kingdom is a community who live in Washington, D.C, and are the second largest settlement after The Hilltop. The Kingdom is a former highschool protected with walls of buses and metal. It is part of a trading network along with The Saviors and The Hilltop , which is run by Negan.

Animals haven’t really played a huge part in The Walking Dead, apart from Daryl hunting them for food. The introduction of a tiger was definitely a shock, to those who don’t read the comics that is. King Ezekiel is very charismatic. However he makes it known to all that he hates violence, despite being a capable fighter. He prides himself in his abilities as a leader. Ezekiel is very rarely vulnerable, as he is always accompanied by soldiers and of course his pet tiger, Shiva.

In tonight’s episode we can expect to learn a lot more about The Kingdom. We will also see Carol with a leg injury, in a wheelchair. Morgan and Carol have been welcomed into the Kingdom and its likely Carol wants to escape, but her injury restrains her. Morgan may be her only hope for survival.

Overall this episode promises to be a good one, and certainly will be much lighter than its premiere.
