Former X Factor judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini could be returning to the singing competition, just months after announcing her exit.
The singer who’s currently dating One Direction’s Liam Payne is reportedly in talks to return to the show during Judges Houses to help mate Simon Cowell pick his finalists.
According to X Factor sources, Simon and ITV both want boyfriend Liam to appear with Cheryl as they know it would be huge for the show and boost slumping ratings.
A source told the Daily Star Sunday: “Both Cowell and ITV bosses are in agreement Cheryl would be the perfect person to help him pick his finalists.
“Everyone knows how well Cheryl and Simon work together on and off screen. Cheryl also has a proven track history mentoring the girls as a judge, she’s still incredibly popular with fans and it would keep her within the X Factor family despite her quitting.”
The source continued: “Simon wants to win this year and he really respects Cheryl’s opinion when it comes to finding a star.”
X Factor are insisting that the lineup of stars who will help during Judges Houses has not yet been confirmed. The X Factor returns to ITV later this summer.
