Channel 4’s winter sports show The Jump will return next year despite all of the injuries that happened in the last series, The Sun have reported.
The show that’s hosted by Davina McCall was tipped not to return after a staggering seven celebrities had to receive medical treatment over injuries they sustained while taking part.
A source for The Sun newspaper has described the Channel 4 show as one of the most talked about shows on air for good and bad reasons.
“For good and bad reasons The Jump was one of the most talked about shows on television last year. It still pulls in big names and offers up drama that longer-running shows do not,” the source said.
“It’s the only reality show of its kind — and it gives it something else compared to other shows. The uncertainty and the occasional injury make it all the more interesting.
“An official announcement will come in due course, but from Channel 4’s point of view it’s a done deal.”
Before Channel 4 could renew the series for another series, she shows safety procedures were put under review but now it’s reportedly been given the all-clear.
The most recent series was won by retired rugby star Ben Cohen.
