Angie Bowie’s agent has spoken and defended the star for choosing to say in the Celebrity Big Brother house – after being informed of her ex-husbands death off camera.
Her management said the following: “I was asked to go in to the house at around midday yesterday, we took her off-camera and explained the situation. It was emotional.
“She took the time to think about the ramifications, she didn’t want to be seen to be cashing in and leave the house immediately.
“She had plenty of time to consider her position. She made the decision to go back in to the house, she made the decision to be interviewed afterwards, and obviously when Big Brother’s talking to her and asking questions it is emotional, but the whole Big Brother experience is emotional.”
He also had high praise for Channel 5, producers of the show and Endemol Shine.
“Channel 5, I have to say, have been magnificent,” he said. “They left it entirely up to her to make the decision, she had no pressure from either myself, or from Channel 5, or Endemol, or any of the producers. It was entirely her decision.
“She’s an intelligent woman, she knows what she’s doing and she went in to the show knowing what the show’s about.”
It seems that not everyone is praising Channel 5 or the producers of Big Brother as social media has erupted since the scenes of Angie crying were aired. Many have branded the episode that went out as “tasteless”.
Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 5.
