Strictly Come Dancing: Reigning champion Aliona Vilani Quits

Aliona Vilani has announced that she won’t be returning to Strictly Come Dancing next year after her win with Jay McGuiness. The professional dancer will not be part of the next series of Strictly, as she announced this on Twitter this morning (22nd December)

Aliona tweeted “Going into this Strictly Come Dancing series 13, I decided that no matter what happened, this would be my last one”. She also added ” After seven years on the Strictly Come Dancing, as my finale, this has been my best Strictly experience ever by a long mile!”.

Aliona joined Strictly in 2007 and won the show with Mcfly’s Harry Judd in 2011.

Strictly Come.Dancing returns for a Christmas special with an all star line up on BBC One on December 25th.
